About the Club

Founded in 1978, Rochester Soccer Club is one of Michigan's premier soccer clubs and the largest soccer club in Michigan. RSC offers a complete soccer experience, with opportunities to play in recreation, development, travel, and Elite programs. RSC is a true full-service soccer club with a proven history of outstanding player development and success at all levels of competition.

Our mission as a non-profit organization is to foster the physical, mental, and emotional development of our players through the game of soccer. RSC provides playing opportunities for recreational, developing, and Elite players. In all matters, RSC acts with integrity, ensures continual improvement, increases customer program value, and works actively to improve the community in which we operate.

Program Overview

RSC promotes overall player development, team building, and fun for all ages and ability levels - from recreation to competitive travel.

THUNDERS (18 mos - 3 yrs)

RSC's Thunders program introduces our littlest athletes to ​movement, motor skills, balance, and coordination while giving them the confidence to love and enjoy the game of soccer.

U7-U19

U7-U19 emphasizes participation, skills development, and teamwork. As one of the biggest recreational leagues in MI, we promote physical and emotional development through the game of soccer.

MI STARS LIGHTNING

MI Stars Lightning is for travel players wanting to compete at a higher level. This year long commitment, with professional and nationally licensed coaches, maximizes player development and long term success.

MICROS (U4-U5)

Micros is for ages U4-U5 and teaches basic footskills and ball control, reinforced through instruction, games and mini-scrimmages. Teams are gender specific.​

LDA

Our Lightning Development Academy  is designed for players who are looking to further grow and reach their greatest potential, using a structured, age-specific curriculum implemented by highly qualified coaches.

MI STARS ELITE

MI Stars Elite draws top talent from MI Star Lightning and MI Stars Revolution to provide a player pathway to the top national levels of youth soccer, college, semi-pro, and professional opportunities.

U6

U6 allows young players to be part of a team in an environment focused around learning rather than winning. Teams have one practice per week and one game on Saturdays.

TECHNICAL TRAINING

Technical Training coaches work closely with players to teach proper dribbling, passing, and shooting techniques to better enhance a player's game and cultivate confident and creative thinkers on the field. 

TOPSOCCER 

Offered free to adaptive athletes in our community, TOPSoccer provides participants with diverse cognitive and physical abilities an opportunity to play soccer in a safe, fun, supportive and inclusive environment.

Player Pathway

​Rochester Soccer Club’s Michigan Lightning and Macomb County’s Michigan Revolution FC have joined forces to form a new and separate elite level club - Michigan Stars Elite. This partnership will provide a greater player pathway to the top national levels of youth soccer, college, semi-pro, and professional opportunities. This structure allows RSC and Revolution to focus and function in their original community foundations and programs, but adds a pathway to even higher levels for players from each organization. This allows our community clubs to now have a truly vertical pathway for player growth and development, ranging from recreation to travel to pro.
