Player Registration All players must be registered for their team before the tournament begins. Rosters Rosters are frozen when the tournament begins. Team Formation All teams are over 30 years old and co-ed, with at least one female on the field at all times. Roster minimum is 4, roster maximum is 6. Teams may have a maximum of one Lightning coach on their roster, regardless of age. Equipment All team members must wear the same color shirt. All players must wear shinguards. Field Dimensions 20Wx30L. Goal size is 4x8. Game Duration: 30 minutes, running clock Scoring (group games): 3 points for a win. 1 point for a draw. 0 points for a loss. Tiebreakers (group games) 1) Head-to-head result 2) Goal difference 3) Goals for 4) Goals against 5) Drawing straws Championship In a single bracket, the top two teams will advance to the championship. If in a multi-bracket, the top team from each bracket will play in the championship. If the championship is tied after regulation, a best of three penalty shootout will take place. If still tied, penalty kicks move to sudden death. Awards T-Shirts will be provided for all members of the winning team. No-Play Crease A 5-foot no-play crease will be marked in front of every goal. Players may move through the crease, but the ball cannot be touched within in. If the attacking team touches the ball in the crease, the other team is given a goal-kick. If the defending team touches the ball in the crease, the attacking team is awarded a penalty kick. If the ball completely stops in the crease regardless of who last touched it, the defending team is awarded a goal kick. Kick Offs May be passed in any direction. Sideline Restarts No throw-ins. All sideline restarts are passed in. Another player must touch the ball before scoring from a sideline restart. Goal Kicks Taken on the team's end line, not within the no-play crease. Slide tackling Not permitted. Offside Offside does not apply. Free Kicks All free kicks, except penalty kicks, are indirect and the opponent must be five yards away from the ball prior to restarts. If five yards does not exist between the goal and the point of the foul, the defending team moves back as far as they are able, avoiding the crease. Penalty Kicks Penalty kicks are awarded for a no-play crease infraction or for slide tackling. Taken from midfield. No goalkeeper. All other players are behind the midfield line. If the shot is missed, the opposite team restarts play with a goal kick. Sporting Behavior All players and spectators are expected to display appropriate sporting behavior. The tournament has a zero tolerance stance on this issue with forfeiture or removal as consequences.
